Oriental fragrances are the ones that are dominated by an Amber Note and are placed in a separate group thanks to their accentuated warmth and sensuality. Their opulent bouquet includes intoxicating and intensive substances such as musk, vanilla, exotic resins and wood, often accompanied by woody and spicy notes. With their spices, musks, incense and resins, the orientals are rooted in perfume’s own history, using many of the same ingredients today that were first enjoyed in the orient – India and Arabia – at the dawn of fragrance creation. Most orientals have a warm, heavy, diffusive richness that’s more suited to after-dark wearing. They linger sensually on the skin: they’re heavy on the base notes, which tend to last longer.
Subfamilies:
- Soft oriental: Soft, floral notes mix with incense and warm spices.
- Spicy Oriental: Sweet, warm notes like cinnamon, vanilla, and musk.
- Floral Oriental: Warmth of Amber combined with the freshness of Florals.
- Woody oriental (The one you'll be making with this Kit): Earthy notes like patchouli and Vetiver mixed with spicy and sweet notes. Woody elements of sandalwood, rosewood – and patchouli – are used to add extra depth to the traditional oriental spicy notes, adding mystery and depth

This Sugandhikar Kit contains alcohol-based perfumery ingredients, pipettes, funnel, scent strips, an empty spray bottle, and an information sheet to start your perfume-making journey at home.
